But when you claim to be a blue and play up to it you expect a bit of loyalty. You familiar with that word, loyalty? Not everyone has to be driven by money, especially when you earn 20k per week as it is. I can't imagine Sunderland will have increased his weekly wage by that much.
If he hadn't have played up to being Mr Blue then I would have said fair enough. Going to Sunderland isn't a big step forward for him or his bank balance. 1 year in the championship to help us get back out was all that was needed from him but he couldn't give a ****.

I my opinion if CG had wanted to stay he could have stayed. I beleive with him in the side we would have gained a top three place, without him i'm not so sure.
I am also convinced the season will be as eventful as the close season.

See below - HE WANTED A PAY RISE !!! To stay

However, everybody is aware of the financial cost for any club that is relegated and Blues made it clear they were not in a position to renew or improve my contract, despite the successful season I’d had on a personal front.

imo fahey is a fairly clever player and i believe his best position would be behind the frontman/men as i dont feel hes got the physical attributes to play wide left or in a normal centre mid role

"Alright Pee Pee, I know that I was part of a team that got us relegated and cost the club 90m, but I did score a few goals like so can I have a 50% pay rise? It's only fair, if not I'm off bostin' like. "

Great interview with Gardner in the Mercury, made it clear that club told him he waws being sold because no relegation clause in his contract. Said he was happy to stop but realised club wasnt!

Regarding Fahey tremendous player in the championship I would have thought.

KRO

He contributed to the club being relegated but still wanted an improved offer. :banghead:

We tend to look upon all footballers as being greedy and selfish but I'm sure there are a few who don't worship the dollar.

Today, Posh striker Craig Mackail-Smith chose to snub both West Ham and Leicester to join Brighton & Hove. Maybe the family-run setup there or Gus Poyet was more to his liking?

Can't blame players for taking improved contract offers but there are times, like our present predicament, when you'd like to see a bit of loyalty to the club.
